After-sales service is a contract that includes all the services that the commercial establishment provides to its customers following the sale of a product. Most often, the contract includes telephone assistance, troubleshooting, renovation, maintenance, overhaul, repair, etc. The selling price of the merchandise often includes the price of this contract, sometimes it is added to it. It is important to know the difference between a sales guarantee (guarantees of hidden defects, conformity, etc.) and after-sales service.

Which brand to choose for the best after-sales service?

The after-sales service is an important point in order to guarantee the security of the purchase of a vehicle as it has a great direct influence in making it easy for the car dealer to take care of an early breakdown. This being said, it is generally still complicated to be satisfied with the after-sales service of any brand, as there is an important difference between each dealer. Indeed, the quality of the after-sales service depends largely on the philosophy and conscience of the dealership manager, but not on the brand, as everyone thinks. On the other hand, the responsibility does not necessarily lie with the dealer, since there are some customers who have not had a very good direct experience with the brand. In reality, everyone faces unpleasant surprises everywhere.

The implementation

A vehicle that has a breakdown or is not functioning properly should be taken to the after-sales service department for diagnosis and repair or even exchange. It is the warranty contract that the customer has made with the car dealer that determines whether or not the vehicle will be taken in charge by the after-sales service department. If your vehicle is "under warranty", and the source of the breakdown or malfunction is listed in the warranty, the after-sales service department will take charge of all the costs to restore the vehicle to its original condition.

In the case of a disagreement

If a dispute with the after-sales service provider arises (additional costs, unrepaired vehicle, etc.), the customer is entitled to give the latter formal notice to fulfil his obligations within a specified period. The customer will send this formal notice to the service provider by means of a registered letter followed by a request for an acknowledgement of receipt.
